  The River Village Courtyard by Marriott project is moving ahead, right on schedule according to the developers. Framing for the 125-room hotel started last week and half of the second floor guest tower is expected to be done by next week. The structural steel should arrive next week and the public areas will then be framed. The hotel is expected to open just in time for the Fourth of July weekend next year.

Construction on the new JCPenny store at New Braunfels Towncenter at Creekside continues in preparation for a March 2009 opening.  Infrastructure on the massive project continues.  NewQuest Properties is working with major national tenants from across the United States and expect a dozen or more to join Target and JCPenny in the near future.

Leisure Pools Soon to be Swimming in the New Braunfels Market - Leisure Pools, located on IH 35 South next to Mid-Tex Oil, is nearing completion.  The new 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility will feature a showroom and an outdoor display area where customers can see and feel the pool product.  New Braunfels newest manufacturing plant will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 14 and is scheduled to begin production early 2009.

  EH Systems Opens Doors on New Manufacturing Facility - More than 200 people joined company officials at the new EH Systems facility on FM 306 as a ribbon is cut celebrating the expansion into their new 100,000 sq. ft. plant.  EH Systems manufacturers SIP panels used in the home building industry.  Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP's) are used in green construction to give property owners money savings on utilities.  EH Systems increased their previous operations facility and added several new lines of construction.  These new lines also put the manufacturer into the commercial building arena.

  Hilton Garden Inn Coming Soon - The new Hilton Garden Inn being built between IH 35 and Business 35 will provide more then 50 new hotel rooms for New Braunfels.  The project is scheduled to be complete by Summer 2009.

  McKenna Village Project Sports Presence at Sundance Park - The new McKenna Village senior housing and care facility is progressing as brick and stone are being laid.  This new development is set to open in late Spring 2009, but prospective residents can reserve their new home now.

Cooper's BBQ Ready to Stoke the Pits in New Braunfels - New Braunfels is now home to more Texas style, hill country bar-b-que when Cooper's opens the end of October.  Located on Loop 337 next to Carpet World, the Cooper family name is familiar to Texans all over the hill country between New Braunfels and Fredericksburg.  They had a special private party opening on Monday, October 20, where their special pit style cooking was showcased for more than 400 guests

New Braunfels opened its 6th Fire Station this past week, the first new station in almost 20 years. The ribbon cutting began by a fireman’s ax cutting a ribbon loaded between two fire hoses and community officials and neighborhood citizens had the chance to tour the facility during the open house. The new station will staff six firefighters and has one new recently-christened fire engine, one EMS vehicle and serves as home to the only tanker in New Braunfels

Town Creek recently broke ground and streets and utilities for phase 1 of the project will be completed in November with construction starting on the first businesses and homes soon after. Phase 1 at build-out will include up to 60,000 square feet of commercial space, 26 single family homes, 30 townhouses, and 25 urban condominiums.  The developers expect to put our first floor plans and unit pricing on the website (www.towncreektexas.com) in the next couple weeks.

Center for Entrepreneurship Opens for Business - On September 18, more than 100 people crowded into the cafeteria at the Goodwin School on Church Hill Dr. to help open New Braunfels first incubator.  The Center for Entrepreneurship helps people in the food service business develop, build, and expand their thoughts and ideas into a operational business.  Mike Fitsko, Executive Director, and others join in front of the cafeteria to cut the ribbon on this new partnership between the City, Alamo Community College District, Comal ISD, and Chamber.  The Center is home to one client and it is in hopes of having several more by the end of 2008.

Goodwin Lane Project Being Done by Koontz McCombs - Koontz McCombs was approved for an extension on their project at the two industrial park sites in north New Braunfels.  They have committed to completing Goodwin Ln. from FM 306 to the end of their property line which represents 1.5 miles of new surface, drainage, and widening.  The cost of this project is $1.1 million.

Cemex USA Stands Tall on the New Braunfels Skyline - CEMEX USA's $250 million expansion project is nearing completion.  As seen from IH 35, the new kiln and storage silos appear to be ready to begin "cranking out" concrete for the Texas market.  Plant start up is underway at this time, with production to begin by the end of 2008.

New Retail/Office Center Nearing Completion on Loop 337-This new strip center will open its doors by December providing office and retail space for some of New Braunfels newest businesses.  The facility, located next to AnyTime Fitness on Loop 337, has more than 5,000 sq. ft. of space divided into four convenient spaces.
